シアトルで庭に植えるバラから始まった私のガーデニンググ。バラをはじめ、クレマチス、ヘレボルスなどの宿根草からはじまり、その後ロックガーデンクラブに入会してからは、山野草に魅せられ、雪割草、原種のユリ、バイモ属にはじまり、テンナンショウ属、カンアオイ属、小さな球根植物など、ちょっと渋めの植物を育てるようになりました。

欲しいと思う植物が種から育てるしか入手方法がない場合が多いので、開花まで、５．６年はゆうにかかる植物を当初は仕方がなしに種蒔きしていましたが、最近では、昔に蒔いた種から花が見られるようになってきました。　

世界中の花好きの方々と花の輪が広がれば楽しいです♪

我が家の愛犬ペッパも時々登場しますのでどうぞ宜しくお願いします。
（ペッパは２０１４年に天国に旅だってしまったので、これからはペッパの記事は思い出話になってしまいますが、いつの日かまた、ペッパの後輩ワンちゃんと一緒に過ごせる日が来ることを願っています。）

ブログでは、アメリカはシアトルでの園芸ライフを綴っています。このブログ内の写真は、特に記載のない限り、すべてシアトルの我が家の庭で大切に育てている ( 育てていた^^; ) 植物達です。

Hello!

I'm a Japanese living in the Seattle area and I belong to several rock garden societies.
When I first started gardening I grew roses, clematis, and hellebores, but since I joined the North American Rock Garden Society (both national and my local chapter), I started to take an interest in alpine and rock garden plants.

I especially love spring ephemerals like Erythronium, Trillium, and Fritillaria, and I LOVE Hepatica! I am also a member of the International Hepatica Society in Japan.

In addition, I enjoy woodland plants, species lilies, Arisaema, Asarum, Aristolochia, and small bulbs. I love Galanthus as well but my collection is still small.

My garden was originally full of roses, clematis hybrids and species, and hellebores, and while I still grow them, my interest has shifted to smaller plants that I can plant in my city garden.

I've also started discovering many wonderful plants that I never knew existed, and have rediscovered the joy of growing plants from seed (even ones that I used to plant as bulbs).

I would love to exchange seeds with folks who have similar passions! Looking forward to hearing from you!
